Greg Aguirre's Biography
Greg Aguirre is the Founder and President & CEO of Capital Rivers Commercial, a Sacramento-based commercial real estate firm with offices in Chico and Redding. A lifelong Sacramento resident, Greg founded the firm in 2015 after leaving a corporate real estate career.
Over time, Capital Rivers Commercial expanded to bring development, brokerage, asset management, and advisory services under one roof, allowing clients to work with a single team from planning through execution. The firm works with national, regional, and local clients and has completed projects across the West Coast and beyond, including service-oriented retail, aviation facilities, auto-related uses, and healthcare projects such as senior care and dialysis clinics.
Greg began his career in land acquisitions while attending California State University, Sacramento, and shortly after graduation worked on land acquisitions and entitlements at Richmond American Homes before transitioning into commercial and retail real estate. He later spent more than a decade in corporate real estate roles with CVS/pharmacy, Chase Bank, and The Sleep Train Group, where his work spanned site selection, leasing, entitlements, construction management, portfolio management, and national rollout programs.
Having worked across nearly every stage of a commercial real estate transaction, Greg brings a practical, hands-on understanding of deal structure, risk, and long-term project execution. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate & Urban Land Use from California State University, Sacramento, is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, and has earned a Construction Project Management Certification from the University of California, Davis.
Greg did not come from an entrepreneurial family or have access to capital. His career was built gradually through experience, relationships, and execution. Growing up watching his single mother work to support their family shaped his work ethic and his focus on building long-term stability—for his clients, his team, and his own family.
Greg credits much of his professional growth to the people around him, including family members, mentors, colleagues, and partners who have challenged him and helped him improve over time.
He lives in El Dorado Hills, California, with his wife, Brooke, and their two daughters, who are his highest priority. Greg also serves on the board of CLARA (E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts), supporting access to arts education throughout the Sacramento region, and Team California, a nonprofit organization of cities and counties focused on advancing economic development across the state.
A lender partner summarized his approach this way:
“I can say that I have met a lot of developers over a thirty-year career financing construction and the repositioning of projects, and I have been impressed with your industry knowledge as well as your ability to recognize and structure transactions to minimize risk. Your team is great to work with, and response times are quick.”
