How we handle your information

What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Nothing that measures you runs on this site until you choose it.

Who we are

Capitol Rivers, Inc., doing business as Capital Rivers Commercial is a commercial real estate firm with offices in Sacramento, Chico, and Redding, California. California DRE license 01522447.

This policy covers capitalrivers.com and explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to visitors, clients, job applicants, and anyone who contacts us through this site.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you use a form on this site we collect what you type into it. That means your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in the message. If you apply for a role we also collect the resume you upload and any details in it.

Information collected automatically. If you consent to analytics, we collect standard measurement data: pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and how long you stayed. Nothing about you personally is collected before you consent.

Property search. Our property listings are provided by Buildout, a third party. Using that search sends data to Buildout and to Google Maps, which have their own privacy practices.

What we do with it

Respond to enquiries and provide the services you asked about.

Review job applications.

Send market reports and updates, if you asked for them.

Understand which parts of this site are useful, so we can improve them.

Meet our legal and professional obligations as a licensed real estate brokerage.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold it in the past twelve months.

We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not process payments on this site, and we do not collect financial account details through it.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Consent and tracking

No analytics or advertising technology runs on this site until you choose it. When you first arrive, all measurement is set to denied. Nothing loads until you accept.

We honor Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out and no measurement runs.

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.

Our cookie policy explains each cookie and what it does.

Who we share it with

Service providers. WP Engine hosts this site. Gravity Forms processes form submissions. Mailchimp handles our mailing list. Google provides analytics and maps. Buildout provides property listings. Each is bound by contract to use the information only to provide the service.

Professional advisors. Our lawyers, accountants, and insurers, where they need it.

Legal requirements. Where the law, a court, or a regulator requires it.

That is the full list. We do not share your information with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are kept for as long as the enquiry is active and for three years afterwards, which matches our record-keeping obligations as a licensed brokerage.

Job applications are kept for one year unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Mailing list records are kept until you unsubscribe.

Analytics data is retained for fourteen months.

Your rights in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you specific rights. You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you and where it came from. You can ask us to delete it. You can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can ask us to limit how we use sensitive personal information, though we do not collect any.

You can also opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the Cookie preferences link gives you control over measurement regardless.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, use the contact details below. We will verify your identity before acting, usually by asking you to confirm details we already hold. We respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need longer.

You can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will ask for written proof of that authority.

Security

This site runs over HTTPS. We use a web application firewall and login protection, and we keep the software current.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you as the law requires.

Changes

This policy was last updated in September 2026. If we make material changes we will update this page and change the date. Where the change is significant we will say so on the site.
