Thanks in part to Capital Rivers Commercials partnership with SME Logistics, Inc. Augusta University Health is getting closer to launching its new air medical program, AU Health AirCare. Capital Rivers Commercial and SME Logistics, Inc. is responsible for securing the real estate at the Augusta Regional Airport and developing both the temporary Sprung hangar and crew quarters as well as the 11,000 square foot permanent hanger and office facility.
AirCare is a hospital based air ambulance service that is staffed by AU Health clinicians and Metro Aviation pilots and technicians. Capital Rivers Commercial and SME Logistics, Inc. are breaking ground on the permeate facility in July 2021 and anticipate a fully operational base before the end of the year. This is an exciting project for our companies and not only is it a fun project, but it will improve the emergency response times in the surrounding community including better access to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
This is one of multiple recent development projects by Capital Rivers Commercial and there are more to be announced in the very near future.
